Logs for sale Wrexham, keeping the home fires burning
We are a family based business and have been providing the public with quality firewood since the early 1960s. the business had a bit of a decline in the
1980s due to our then customers turning to cheap gas. Recent years we have seen quite a turn around with gas and electricity prices going through the roof which is linked to covid and the conflicts in the middle east and Europe, Triggering the cost of living crisis of 2021\2022, . I think we can all agree the cost of living crisis has sadly become a way of life for us these days and we have come to expect that our daily living cost will increase.
The process
Ensuring a quality product for our customers
Ensuring a quality product for our customers
Over the years we have invested considerably in buildings and equipment to be able to offer to the public a quality product that they won’t be disappointed with at a completive price.
We should all be conscious of the our environment. Approx. 99% of our wood is either from dead, dying, senile or windblown trees, generally speaking they have come to the end of their life, we are just repurposing them. Our logs are naturally seasoned using the sun, wind and time. The timber is stored for a couple of years in our Wrexham base before it is sawn up and split and stacked in our drying shed for a further 12 months.
This year we have continued to improve our efficiency by fitting a more efficient Perkins engine (Image 1 and 2) to run our 2 splitters, which now have dedicated Hydraulic pumps. This engine replaced 2 dated engines.
The warm air from cooling the engine and its pumps and reservoirs is then diverted via wire mesh ducting we fabricated through the drying sheds Via 2 fans. (image 3)
When running this engine has reduced exhaust emissions, it also has reduced noise pollution (it’s very much quieter than our 2 older engines).
How things have changed
People are now turning back to logs as a means of heating their home
Our product is not immune to the rise in log burning in homes as the price of logs have unfortunately increased. we have to give from 25 to 40% more now for the raw product, this is partly as a result of the demand for high quality wood has increased as people are burning more logs now.
Logs for Sale in Wrexham, our process:
Based and processing our logs in the Wrexham region, we sell our logs in plastic bags which are recyclable, once delivered we can either empty them where the customer requests or leave them in the bags and the customer can either return them or we can pick them up or we pick them up the next time the customer has a delivery. Either way they are used several times. once they can no longer be used for example if they are split, we return them to our suppliers where they are bailed up and sent off to be recycled into a new product.
We can supply you with mixed logs which is seasoned hardwood and seasoned softwood mixed together this option is cheaper but the softwood content does burn away quicker but you do get a faster start up to your fire. Our Hardwood logs are primarily Ash Beech or Oak. This is great quality wood which will give you a slow hot burn ideal for your open fire or log burner.
Our hardwood logs cannot be compared to the cheap logs you find in supermarkets – which tend to burn away very quickly

I may be a bit biased, but the benefits of a log fire apart from offering a more economical and energy independence means of heating our homes are vast, to summarise:
– Eco friendly “wood renewable”
– Wellness advantages reduction in stress
– Improved focus
– Cozy ambiance that promotes relaxation

– Connection with nature
– A means of a backup heating source during power outages
– Depending on your stove, a means of cooking
Whether you have an open fire or a log burner, but seeing the flame and the embers and feeling the warmth is truly therapeutic in itself
